A Short History Of Meriwest Credit Union

• Since its inception in 1961 the Meriwest Credit Union has been serving its members in and around the San Jose, California area with exceptional financial products.

  Currently led by Christopher Owen, the Meriwest CU has grown its membership to over 87,592 with assets of more than $1,107,243,147. They have 214 full time employees and 9 part time employees with a main office and 17 branch offices.

  The Meriwest Credit Union offers its members a full service website that allows for true "Banking From Home" functionality. Users have the ability to apply for loans, get account balance and history reports, transfer money between accounts, make bill payments, and so much more.

  Members can also take advantage of a full array of loans including real estate, business and new and used car loans.

  Meriwest Credit Union is registered as a State Chartered type Credit Union. This means that even though they are state chartered they are still federally insured up to $250,000 per account by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) which is administered by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA).
